Star Wars the Old Republic is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game or MMORPG for short.
It is a new MMORPG that was launched on December 20th 2011 and has been dubbed the fastest growing MMORPG of all time as well as been awarded several other truckloads of accolades even before it was released.
I find that it is a good way [outside of currys and pub trips] to keep in touch a G33k out on Star Wars with my friends as we quest for the never ending pinnacle of Characterdom. Sounds pointless, but if you are a Star Wars fan this game will hold something for you as it covers the entire universe - literally.
Without going into too much detail you can be a mercenary, trooper, Jedi, Sith, imperial agent and own your own starship! You get to do this on Korriban, Hutta, Tatooine, Alederaan and loads of other planets whilst earning cash to upgrades to make yourself even more cool…
Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me. :)
