Isis Horus Biking / Cycling
I have been cycling now for about 20 years off and on, but only recently have I been cycling  to work
and to keep some sort of exercise regime.

I wanted to take part in the Cycle To Work Scheme, but I missed the out on that one unfortunately.
The Scheme revolves around the premise that you buy a bike and accessories and bike to work . As a
part of  this you are technically hiring the bike for a set period of time (after paying a fee that is
usually top-sliced from your  salary) and at the end are given the option to buy the bike for a fair value which saves you a lot of money compared to buying outright.

To alleviate what can be a monotonous journey I try and race against myself each day with the help of
Endomondo which is a piece of software that you can install on your phone and track your distance,
time, speed and heart rate as well as route...
When I first started commuting I arrived at work
cream crackered, but the more I persevered the
easier it became until the day arrived when I
wasn’t tired for long, but actually felt refreshed.

If I don’t commute on my bike for a while I do miss it. I don’t miss the traffic jams in the morning but also getting rained on and being cold though are no fun.

This had a knock on effect at work as I felt more
able to deal with the working day and if I had a
rubbish day then the ride home would help me
de-stress.

Well that's the theory anyway...
